98 - Coffee Chat with Trevis Boyd, owner of Black Pearl Coffee

Supporting local coffee roasters means you will always get freshly roasted coffee and have it delivered straight to your door for your coffee enjoyment. And if you’ve tried the coffee before, you know what to expect. However, if you’ve never tried the coffee, you are basing your choice on the tasting notes and hope that the coffee taste delivers. But what if you could visit a local roaster who happens to have a retail space where you can try the coffee first and then bring home your freshly roasted coffee?

In episode 98, Genny spoke with Trevis Boyd, owner of Black Pearl Coffee, who roasts coffee beans and owns a retail space at 411 Dufferin Avenue where you can try the coffee, buy your coffee beans plus loose tea and Mayan cocoa, and a variety of coffee accessories and equipment.

Established in 2000, Black Pearl Coffee roasts premium coffees, certified fair-trade coffees, and certified organic coffees from around the world. From wild to mild, they offer more than 20 different coffees, both single origin and intriguing blends.

Trevis shared show he got started in the coffee business, and how his passion for coffee “perks” his creativity when it comes to creating those special blends and sourcing the best green coffee.

Trevis also spoke about his coffee fundraiser program, created in 2001, that works for schools, teams, and organizations looking for a “fresh” idea to raising funds.
