Shelly MacInnis-Wynn is a brave, vulnerable, and inspiring woman and mother. She is also someone that endured an unimaginable heartbreak when her husband, Const. David Wynn of the RCMP, lost his life after being shot in the line of duty after responding to a call. This week, Shelly speaks publicly for the first time since David’s death about how she will never be the same, and the impact this tragic event has had upon her and her family. Shelly details that fateful night, and the moments after, spent in David’s final days in the hospital. She uses her voice and heartbreak to change practices and procedures that hopefully will never have another family in her situation suffer again.
