Founder & CEO, LIFTT Leadership
Eric Thompson is the founder of LIFTT Leadership, a neuroscience-backed framework for emotional regulation under pressure. A former D1 baseball player and coach, Eric works with championship teams, Olympic athletes, NBA coaches, and elite performers across sports and business.
Recently, he worked with the University of Texas Longhorns softball team during their 2025 national championship run, helping athletes like Reese Atwood and Teagan Kavan build the mental skills that separated good performance from championship performance.
Eric's approach focuses on how athletes can regulate their nervous systems under stress, quiet the inner critic, and perform when it matters most—skills that translate from athletics to life beyond.
What Would I Like to Discuss?
How emotional regulation becomes a competitive advantage for youth baseball players and coaches. I would like to explore what actually happens inside an athlete when pressure builds—during tryouts, championship games, or when facing adversity inside or outside of sports—and the practical tools coaches and parents can use to help players stay present, confident, and emotionally responsible. My work at LIFTT is about neuroscience and practical tools, not mindset and positive thinking; it's teaching the nervous system to work with pressure instead of against it in the moment. I'd also love to discuss how these same skills help young athletes build identity and resilience that lasts beyond their playing career.
