Chat with Howard Raber of Raber Gloves

Chat with Howard Raber of Raber Gloves

This episode is sponsored by CAA Manitoba. Making bad days good. And good days better.®

In Winnipeg, we're affectionally known as "Winterpeg" because our winters are so cold. As children, we were able to keep our hands warm because everyone wore "garbage mitts", those iconic buff coloured leather mitts created by Raber Gloves.

In this episode, Genny chats with Howard Raber, President and Owner of Raber Glove Manufacturing Company Limited, who recently celebrated 80 years in business.

Howard shared how his grandfather started the business in the '20s, and shared that his grandfather valued relationships; how a deal was decided with a handshake. Howard emphasized how they still value relationships more than the business. For them, the business will come from the relationships and not the other way around. Also, he gave value to consistency and how it has helped their company grow. Of course, they also spoke about their mutual love of coffee!

To learn more about the "garbage mitts" and their other leather mitts and gloves, and more about the history of Raber Gloves, please listen now.
