Tea Talk with Michelle Bloom

This episode is sponsored by CAA Manitoba. Making bad days good. And good days better.®

Did you know that tea, not coffee, is the second most consumed beverage in the world after water?

It is well known that drinking tea has a lot of health benefits. Tea is a very rich source of a specific antioxidant called flavonoid that may help boost your immune system and fight off inflammation. Of all the teas, green tea is considered the healthiest tea, as it can help to boost brain and heart health. Tea can also help you relax and help lower your stress, as it contains natural herbs that are designed to calm us.

In episode 21, Genny chats with Michelle Bloom, owner of Three 6 Tea located in Selkirk, Manitoba. A certified tea expert, Michelle shares her knowledge about the different types of tea and offers tips on how you can choose the right type of tea for you.  Speaking of which, choosing a tea can be a challenge as Michelle carries 150 varieties of tea including black, green, white, oolong, and pu-erh. She also carries matcha, rooibos, and honeybush (which is one of their top sellers). As well, she carries tisanes (that don’t actually contain tea leaves) that come in fruit, herbal, and wellness varieties. So choosing the right tea really depends on your mood, your feelings, and your likes and dislikes. It also depends on the smell as each tea has its own. As Michelle says, “the nose knows”.
